US-China rivalry and its impact on global supply chains

Abstract

This research examines the growing competition between the United States and the People’s Republic of China in the domain of global supply chains, highlighting the shift from a traditional trade conflict to a comprehensive restructuring of the global production system. The study explores the underlying drivers of this strategic rivalry, the mechanisms each power employs to reshape supply chains, and the implications—both opportunities and challenges—this transformation presents for developing economies.

The research concludes that developing countries can benefit from this global reconfiguration by enhancing their industrial capabilities and attracting foreign investment. However, doing so requires structural reforms, political stability, and a balanced strategic vision in their engagement with the major powers
