Abstract
Abstract
Through this research, we try to explore the centrality of alliances in the strategy launched by the administration of President Barack Obama entitled "Balance in Asia" to contain the rise or "Chinese threat", as the network of American alliances established after World War II has always played a key role in the containment strategy of the former Soviet Union, during the Cold War era. The Obama administration has tried to follow this alliance approach to contain China, as it is a less costly and more effective approach for the United States, especially after the administration of President George W. Bush and the neoconservatives drained the energy of the United States in waging wars, expanding commitments and engaging in global issues.
