Abstract:
This research examines the internal determinants of Chinese foreign policy in the Indo-Pacific region, focusing on how China seeks to enhance its position as an influential global power. The research highlights that Chinese foreign policy is based on fundamental principles such as respect for sovereignty, non-interference in the internal affairs of states, and the promotion of international cooperation to achieve a more just and balanced world order. However, the application of these principles faces complexities in the Indo-Pacific region due to the interconnectedness of economic and security challenges and the presence of competing regional and international powers.
Since the launch of the Belt and Road Initiative in 2013, Chinese strategies have undergone significant transformations to bolster its economic presence through investments in infrastructure, ports, and trade routes, aiming to secure supply chains and ensure access to vital resources and markets. Through these policies, Beijing seeks to consolidate its geopolitical influence indirectly, relying on economic and diplomatic tools rather than traditional military force. The research also addresses China's modernization of its military capabilities and its development of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, as well as its pursuit of technological self-sufficiency.
