Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become one of the most prominent manifestations of the modern technological revolution due to its remarkable capacity to influence the lives of individuals and societies. Despite the extensive benefits it offers across various fields, its increasing adoption has generated significant ethical and intellectual challenges concerning the future of humanity and the values that govern society. In light of these developments, philosophical thought emerges as an essential framework for understanding the ethical dimensions of technological advancement and for examining its implications for freedom, justice, and human responsibility. It also contributes to establishing ethical foundations that ensure AI technologies are developed and employed in ways that serve humanity and safeguard fundamental human rights.Political thought, in turn, plays a pivotal role in formulating the public policies that regulate the development and deployment of artificial intelligence in pursuit of the public interest. Drawing upon its core principles of justice, liberty, and accountability, political thought contributes to the establishment of legislative and regulatory frameworks that balance technological innovation with the protection of individual rights and freedoms. It further assists policymakers in enacting laws that define the legal and ethical responsibilities associated with the design, development, and use of AI systems. Moreover, political thought strengthens mechanisms of oversight and governance by promoting transparency, accountability, and the prevention of the misuse of AI technologies. In this respect, it provides both the intellectual and legislative foundations necessary to guide artificial intelligence toward advancing human welfare and achieving sustainable development.Accordingly, this study seeks to examine the role of philosophical and political thought in addressing the ethical challenges posed by artificial intelligence. It does so by analyzing their theoretical foundations and exploring their potential to develop a balanced ethical framework capable of fostering a responsible and sustainable relationship between human beings and emerging AI technologies.
