Abstract:
This study seeks to analyze the trajectory of the strategic alliance between the United States of America and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, tracing its evolution from 2015 to the present in light of the accelerating regional and international transformations that have generated a set of fundamental variables in the nature of the relationship between the two countries and the frameworks governing their interaction. The study examines the multiple dimensions of this alliance, foremost among them the security and military dimension, the economic dimension, and the technological dimension, as the principal pillars upon which it rests, while shedding light on the repercussions and interactions of this alliance for the regional security architecture in the Middle East. The study concludes that the U.S.–Saudi alliance, despite the significant divergences and challenges that have marked certain junctures, continues to retain its strategic importance for both parties, and that it is moving toward an ongoing process of redefining its priorities and operational mechanisms in a manner consistent with successive regional transformations, the escalation of security threats, and the shifting calculus of shared interests between the two sides.
